Academic Programs

University College offers several non-traditional programs to both degree seeking and non-degree seeking students.
  • DOORS Program—a non-degree seeking status for students over the age of 21. It allows students to take up to 15 hours that can be applied toward an academic major and waives certain requirements such as ACT scores.
  • ENTRÉE Program—a non-degree seeking status that allows students to take up to 6 hours of graduate credit without taking the GRE or GMAT and without letters of recommendation. These 6 credits can be applied towards a Master’s degree, should the student wish to seek one and meet the proper requirements.
  • 60-Plus Program—a special program designed for senior citizens age 60 and above where they receive tuition discounts.
  • Summer Visitor Program—designed for those undergraduate students currently attending a university other than UL Lafayette. These individuals can take courses at UL Lafayette during the summer with the understanding that they will be returning to their school in the fall.
  • High School Dual Enrollment Program—a special program for students who have completed their junior year of high school where they can take up to 7 college credit hours while still in high school.
  • Post Baccalaureate—a non-degree seeking program for students who have already earned a bachelor’s degree.
  • On Site Program—traditional University courses are offered at satellite locations in the community, including New Iberia, Breaux Bridge, and Abbeville. These classes are taught by UL Lafayette professors and are comprised of university students.
